Son Dureta Hospital representatives met the managers of CMF and Narok Hospital
The birth of the iSA Project in the Maasailand started back in December 2008 when a group of doctors and technicians of Son Dureta Hospital met CMF clinicians to discuss potential cooperation in the Maasai community. Those preliminary conversations have turned into reality in the form of a support action focused on the improvement of Infectious Diseases diagnostic services centralized at Ewaso Ng’iro Healthcare Centre (ENHC) located in the Narok District of Kenya.
Son Dureta specialists will work with CMF clinical officers in order to improve the management of HIV, hepatitis, rubella and toxoplasma. The intitiative will also include the training of physicians on microbiological culture, stool culture and antibiograms.

In addition to the dianostic upgrades and training sessions, CMF doctors will start using the iSA Project Clinical Platform to exchange medical cases of high complexity with other hospitals of the iSA network. ENHC will be the epicenter from which teleconsultations will be performed including real-time videoconfereces via Skype.
The project also seeks to promote intranational teleconsultations between medical institutions within Kenya, particularly with the aim of reinforcing relationships and collaboration between regional hospitals and the Kenyatta National Hospital of Nairobi.
